Frankie Knuckles x PIG Radio x Sonarby PIG Mag June 18, 2008 Music, Podcast, Sonar
So, where to begin from… Frankie Knuckles, “The Godfather of House Music†will be guest at this year’s Sonar Festival in Barcelona. As some of you might know already, PIG is media partner and through a special page on Sonar’s official website we will offer some exclusive contents. As a first little cadeau PIG is honoured to offer you nothing less than a mix made exclusively for us by mr Knuckles himself. Dj in the 70’s at the Continental Baths in NY with his fellow partner Larry Levan, and from ‘77 to ‘82 at the Warehouse in Chicago where the legend wants that the etiquette “House Music” was applied to the sounds he played in that club. His 30+ years of career is full of milestones, great musical productions and collaborations with the greatest names in club music history (here and here for complete bios). A founder of house music, a genre that recently lives on the borders of the “trend setter’s” living rooms and clubs around the world (see Edbanger, Modular, Kitsunè, Institubes, Boysnoize Records…), today thanks to Sonar and Frank Warren Knuckles in person, PIG offers you a 1 hour journey in his world to rediscover a sound that sooner or later (maybe sooner than later - see Van Helden, McLean, Hercules and DFA), could return to be enjoyed as one of the genres that makes you dance with a smile that comes from your heart… So enough talking and please enjoy mr Knuckle’s exclusive mix for PIG. Happy House to everyone! to listen to the mix you have 2 choices: a: subscribe to PIG Radio’s podcast by clicking on this link. |

New podcast: Sally Shapiro and Johan Agebjörnby Piotr October 26, 2007 Music, News, Podcast
New Pig Radio podcast is coming straight from Sweden. Artists we have chosen are, as always, among our favourites. It’s one of the most intresting couples on contemporary electro pop scene and it’s not Kleerup and Robyn but… Sally Shapiro and her producer Johan Agebjörn. Just after their debut album hit the shelves in US and the last hit single ‘Spacer Woman From Mars’ hit the net, these two music lovers took a break off, for a couple of days to work on a new mix for Pig Radio: Sackaros!
